Holidays Trailheads!As you must know by now, the trails are in rare form. No dust, awesome traction and low temperatures make for great riding conditions, just like how the Dirt Demo in the Demo was. Hopefully you are making time to get out and burn off some calories. I've got a few things to share with you, but first I want to thank you for your on going support. We have had an amazing year, the best year my Dad and I have ever had! With the continued support of riders like you, we are now open 7 days, employing four full time mechanics, a full time buyer, a full time sales manager, a full time special projects agent, a full time and three part time sales techs and of course my Dad and I; still at the handlebars of this crazy crew of passionate cycling friends. My Dad and I got the keys to this funky piece of Cambrian Park Plaza 10 years ago this New Years Day. And now we are stong shop of qualified specialists, rated as a top 100 shop in America by the Bicylce Retailer and Industry News, 3rd largest FSR dealer in America, certified tech shop for Fox Racing Shox and Marzocchi, on the short list with product managers of all top shelf Mtn. Bike components, and we've only just begun... Life is good. |

into the thick of the Holidays, we are looking forward to building all kinds
of colorful kids bikes and stocking the shop with goodies we can't do without.
We also have lots of 2006 model bikes left over, and I want them gone. So
they are priced to please, and that leaves room for stuffing stockings!
The list of sale bikes can be found on our website, front page! We have
a host of specials going for the month, and I decided to mention those at
the end of my letter. We are putting tons of bikes on LAYAWAY, which means
you don't have to find a place to hide a bike until later. We also have
gift certificates for any amount, which friends and family can even buy
over the phone. The gift registry is back on the counter, and people are
filling in a page to tell others what they want this year. If you can't
get down to the shop, e-mail or call in your request and we'll make a page

 Now,
mountain bikes are great, and having more trails to ride them only makes
'em better. Want to help? Well, remember the Public Work Shop we were talking
about last April for the Sierra Azule + Bear Creek Master Plan? What a success
that first date was with dozens of cyclists there to let the folks who manage
our open space know how we want access to all the newly acquired trails
in Los Gatos. Now we need to follow up with MidPen at their third public
workshop held on December 5th, at the Los Gatos Neighborhood Center from
6:30 - 9:30 PM. There, the Master Plan project team will present various
Plan Alternatives for public review and comment. These conceptual Plan Alternatives
will incorporate public comment, the results of the resource data inventory,
and the challenges and opportunities analysis. The input collected at this
third workshop will be used to arrive at a single Preferred Plan. And we
want that plan to include bikes, really bad.This Plan will affect us all, but especially those living in and near Los Gatos. If you haven't visited the MidPed website and checked this out, DO IT NOW. Really, this is huge! Here is the link MidPen manages most of the open space in the bay area, so the outcome of this Plan will greatly influence future plans in other areas. Let's be sure our voices are heard so that we too can enjoy the trails of our open spaces. |
